The workshop’s goal was to share experiences and complement teacher development facilitators’ skills and understanding of teachers’ expectations and challenges in teaching and delivering physical science. The officials from the department of basic education also shared their concerns and areas that require attention to improve students pass rates.  The workshop also shared best practice, pedagogy, skills and techniques for teaching high schools physics and chemistry to teachers and learners.  At the end of the workshop, recommendations were made on what the SAIP can do to improve the quality of physical science in South Africa.
