To establish learner-run Science Clubs at schools which will serve as a vehicle for stimulating interest in science and technology and supporting the enthusiasm of young and perhaps disadvantaged scientists.
The idea involves the creation of a network that incorporates primary schools, high schools, tertiary institutions, government departments, and both government and privately funded scientific institutions. This network should allow every learner to have access to as many scientific institutions as possible. It is hoped that they will thus have an idea of some of the cutting edge research currently being conducted in South Africa and that there will be great excitement and interest generated.
